The Fundación IDEAL para la Rehabilitación Integral Julio H. Calonje is a private, non-profit institution founded by the Rotary Club of Cali in April 1965, located in Cali.
It is established as a Health Service Provider (IPS), a Formal Education Institution, a Protection/Prevention Institution, and a Teaching-Healthcare Centre. It offers health services, comprehensive habilitation/rehabilitation, education, protection, and prevention for children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities through both outpatient and home-care settings.
The foundation extends its coverage to other departments across the country through its Community Participation Rehabilitation program, utilizing Institutional Articulation Strategies (EAI) such as:
Since 2013, the IDEAL® Foundation has been certified by the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) as the first "NDTA Center of Excellence" in Latin America and the Caribbean for training, research, and therapeutic intervention in the clinical practice model (NDT) for individuals with neurological disorders. The donated equipment is part of the outfitting for the new high-tech centre.
As part of the development of its new high-tech center, FOCSA has made a donation of a Nirvana 3.0 Double Sensor System. This immersive, virtual reality–based medical technology supports motor and cognitive neurorehabilitation for children and adolescents from low-income communities (strata 1, 2, and 3), including those with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, and other neuromuscular disorders.
